This past week DPW crews were spotted at the Seawall assessing & patching small areas on the wall. Very slow progress. They did butter in a few stones with mortar.

I took these progress photos on Sat., June 11th. While I was there, I picked up about 15 pieces/chunks of wall stones off the beach and I placed them on top.

It’s unfortunate this wasn’t able to be worked on sooner as now many “groups” of stones are now broken into single pieces making it much harder to determine how they originally fit. No fun at this point for DPW crew trying to “solve the puzzle”!

A Seawall expert should probably be consulted with and maybe that’s the long-term plan.
I offered to repair it myself (with RVIA neighbor help) in April but since RVIA doesn’t own the Park and walk, that was denied by the City of Warwick. Liability issues!

So here we are with the busy season upon us. Be careful around the loose stones. And please don’t toss them back on the beach and in the water at high tides. Thanks!

Hopefully the next photos will show it all patched up. I’m hopeful for that!
