Riverview Improvement Association
Mission Statement:

This Association shall be dedicated to charitable activities
and progress designed to promote the social and economic welfare of the residents of the Riverview neighborhood of Warwick, Rhode Island, USA.

The Mission Statement is per the RVIA Bylaws updated & adopted on 12/14/2014.

Riverview Improvement Association (RVIA) was officially chartered on September 7, 1903 by Schubel Cady, a Riverview, Rhode Island entrepreneur and “Cottager”. This new name was adopted from the previous existing River Vue Casino Association to expand its purpose beyond the management of their  existing Casino – a place for summer fun.

[Note: According to the Providence Journal article that appears in our History, “The River Vue Association, started its home in an old, shingled bungalow structure referred to as, The Casino, here in **1893 – 10 years prior to Schubel Cady’s formal creation of, Riverview Improvement Association. We’re really 10+ years older – Just under a different name.]

RVIA is an association that fosters connections with neighbors & environment. It encourages its residents to get to know their neighbors and surroundings a bit better. To get involved with their “very local” community.

By doing so, members enhance that community with fun activities, charitable causes & assistance. It provides a channel to learn and pass on things that make the Riverview region of Warwick, RI a “Very nice & interesting place to live“. We have interesting history (check out the turn of the century postcards on this site), a beautiful waterfront, sea life and waterfowl, gorgeous sunrises and shellfishing & boating activity on and in Narragansett Bay.

That’s just to name a few things! Add good food in and around the area! Did someone say calamari? How about enjoying a few oysters & quahogs! If you didn’t already think so, you live in a pretty, pretty nice place. Join in and enjoy it to the fullest.

RVIA celebrated its Centennial Anniversary on **September 7, 2003. Warwick Mayor, Scott Avedisian, declared that day as “Riverview Improvement Association Day“, by Mayoral proclamation. You can view this official Proclamation by clicking on the RVIA Day link. Check out the group photo! Do you recognize yourself or see people you know? It was a fun day with a great gathering of neighbors & friends.
