Quarterly Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:04pm

In attendance: Kevin E, Kathy E, Stephanie V., Tricia A., Sandra C., Bill S, Linda H., David W., Barbara R., Maureen B., Officer Maggiacomo

May 2019 meeting minutes approved.

Warwick Police Officers Report:
Officer Maggiacomo reports that overall, not many reports of larcenies, breaking/entering or malicious damage. There were reports of a trailer stolen, an accidental car fire, a possible attempted boat theft, an accident with DUI arrest, and a rescued kayaker. The officer noted that phone scams have been happening; involving person’s own number –beware & block these numbers when you get them. Also noted not to give money to people selling magazines. The officer will request a speed control unit for Tidewater. Community police officers will be receiving new bicycles for use at events around the city (7 total).

It was noted that there have been people in the neighborhood taking from recycling bins –this is against City law – if you see this please report it. There was lengthy discussion about no parking signs and loose dogs on beach –no parking signs are enforceable and all dogs must be leashed at all times, including beach area.

Councilman’s Report (not in attendance): No updates or news report

Treasurers Report:
Money moved from investment account for landscaping. Discussion about donations to Save The Bay and St. Mark’s food pantry – $100 donations to each were approved.

Secretary’s Report:
RVIA received thanks for our help with parade. They hope to do more parades in the Village. Old Business: Adult Social event in June went well – thank you to the Gambardella’s for hosting the event and thank you to the Hjerpe’s, Eisemann’s and Shuster’s for auction items.

New Business:
Upcoming events: Summer Cookout 8/24, hosted by Shusters; Beach Clean Up w/Save the Bay on 9/21; Halloween events –our parade and event with CVA.
Discussion about sewers –it was noted that there is a sewer authority meeting coming up. Possibly to look at bids –directional drilling vs trench – there is concern that this could negatively impact the project. Kevin and Ed plan to go.
