May 2021 meeting minutes approved.

Officers Report:

New Community Police supervisor is Sargent William Castaldi / new officer-in-charge is Captain Robert Hart.  Officer TJ Tavares is new Community Officer, joining Officers Wennamen and Jandreau.

Area has been relatively quiet, no major issues.  Calls received include: parking violations, parties on the beach (Cady area), burning garbage, open burns, disturbance of peace, road-rage, loud party, structure fire (not suspicious), malicious damage to a vehicle, porch-pirates, vehicle being egged, catalytic converters being stolen (city-wide problem).
A resident commented they had seen a tent on beach area at end of Cady, has been there a few days, also noticed needles around the area.  Officer will have this checked out.  Office also noted the recent camp sites discovered in the Warwick Neck area – said their protocol is to attempt to help first – pamphlets with resources listed.  Once the campers moved on, trash was left behind.  Officers said when reporting this, call the non-emergency number and please note the timeframe if possible – will help the officers.
Speeding on Tidewater still a constant issue, patrols have been stepped up. It was noted there is new officer in charge of the Traffic Unit, Sargent Aaron Kay.

There was discussion on street parking in the area –officers noted that some no parking signs in the area are technically un-enforceable because although they were put up (years ago), some were never approved.
Officers reiterated that any concerns or issues must be called in for the police to be able to help.

Councilman’s Report:
Councilman Ladouceurnot in attendance –sent message stating nothing new to report – still working on sewers / working with Mayor

State Representative’s Report: (not in attendance)

Treasurers Report:
Moved some funds to cover bills (landscaping), as no fundraisers due to restrictions.  Still have money coming in from dues.  Only expenses over past months have been for landscaping.  Investment account still doing well.

Secretary’s Report:
Received thank you notes from Mrs. Abbate recognizing donation in memory of her late husband and from Hendricken High School for donation in memory of Mr.Gambardella

Old Business:
No events have been held – due to lack of interest/participation and/or inclement weather.
No adult social planned for this year.  July 4th parade event was attempted, but not held.
City held it’s annual National Night Out in August.

New Business:
Volunteer day to be set up for Lippitt Park – September?  Maybe plan for load of stone or mulch to be delivered.  September 11 was date chosen for cleanup.  Possible Block Party later in September?
Discussion ensued about the need for more landscaping in Lippitt Park.  We are allowed to maintain, but to do more extensive landscaping do we need permission from the City or Coastal (CRMC)?  Most agree the park needs some attention – can we set up a volunteer plan where 2 times each month resident volunteers clean up / maintain Lippitt Park and the ends of Cady and Mill Cove.  Also to look into cleaning weeds at Tidewater/West Shore around sign – do as an organization?
Beach fee questions to be directed to Bev in Parks & Recreation Dept.

Will we have a Stockholders Meeting this year – yes, planning for Nov/Dec.

We will try to plan our Halloween Parade if there is interest.  If Conimicut Village Association has their Halloween event, RVIA can help out again, with donation and volunteers.

Next Quarterly Meeting to be Nov. 8th

Meeting adjourned 7:48pm.
