Hello Riverview,

I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season. You might have been wondering, “So what’s up with the decorating contest?”

Here’s my photo review of the neighborhood.

Weather and other factors kept me from getting out before the Christmas holiday. Also, I only heard from a few of you indicating interest in the “contest”. What’s up with that considering what I discovered out there? That didn’t stop me from checking out as many of you as I could spot. I’m sure I missed a few, and I apologize for that. Below is the photo gallery I created by walking through the neighborhood over two nights. Great job to all with holiday spirit (and time to do this)!

Since so many of you had great decorations and lights, I decided it would be impossible to pick the top three winners. Therefore, I decided to create this gallery, complete with map locations of all the spots I took the photos, for all to see and admire. You’re all winners this year.

I’ve created (2) Photo Gallery styles:
The 1st has an icon on a Map based on GPS locations. The 2nd is a more standard thumbnail gallery (maybe easier for some). Check out both or the style you prefer. The photos are the same in each. 51!
I optimized the photos at Santa’s darkroom to best show off what I saw. I was impressed by all the lights. Note: These galleries look best and their tools work best on a PC, Laptop or Tablet. You can see them on your phone, but I prefer them on a larger screen. How about mirroring to your big TV? Now that’s the ticket! [Unfortunately, no caroling this year due to illnesses and busy people – Maybe next year!]

GPS Map Gallery:

Instructions on how to navigate the Map:

  • Click on a small circular image icon on the Map. Find your house or a friend’s. A side bar will appear to the left with a larger thumbnail of that location. Use the Map zoom tools to zoom in or out.
  • Click on this larger thumbnail and a full-sized photo will “pop up”. The addresses are based on where I literally clicked the photo (GPS location) so your actual house number may be off a bit. But you get the gist. I wanted to show you all the spread of all the holiday spirit (in case you didn’t walk most of the neighborhood like me – or was it Snoop Claus?
  • There’s also a “Full Screen” icon at the right side of the title. It looks like the corners of a box. If you click on that, you’ll see a full screen size of the photo. Pretty nice!
  • The set to “Full Screen” icon likely won’t appear on your phone. Looks like the mobile format doesn’t support this. Like I said – Go bigger for the best experience.

Lightbox Gallery:

This is a fairly standard “Thumbnail Gallery”. There are 52 photos here. Be sure to check out the 2 pages of thumbnails. Enjoy!
