Preserving Warwick Heritage - Celebrating Its History

The sign that appears below has been placed in Cady Park by the City of Warwick. It recognizes the Riverview (or River Vue) neighborhood as one of the several neighborhood regions that has existed during the City's history.

Sign in Cady Park

The sign reads as follows:

"The Riverview, or River Vue, neighborhood, located south of Conimicut Point on Narragansett Bay, was discovered by entrepreneurs looking for an escape from more urban communities.  For decades, a focal point of the neighborhood was "The Casino", home to the Riverview Association and a gathering place for holiday celebrations, summer barbecues, dinner dances and picnics.  Although the casino was rebuilt after a fire in the 1930s, after two arsonists destroyed it in the 1980s, it could not be salvaged.  However, The Riverview Improvement Association today remains a vital community group, holding social events, beautifying the neighborhood and supporting many local charitable causes."

This sign was brought to us by the Warwick Department of Tourism, Culture and Development.  FYI: Their own grant funds paid for this. RVIA Block Grant funds were not utilized.

Oh my!... someone missed to the rule to proofread backwards a few times before printing. Can you find it?
